About Van Nuys Behavioral Health
Located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, Van Nuys Behavioral Health (also known as Southern California Hospital at Van Nuys) is a 57-bed psychiatric hospital that provides acute inpatient and outpatient mental health services on a voluntary basis to adults.
Patients come first in everything we do. Our primary focus is on the complete care of the patient—in a healing environment with compassionate staff and a collaborative approach to ensure the best outcomes.
To be a patient at our Van Nuys facility, there must be a diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder, such as schizophrenia, bipolar, major depression or addiction. To speak with an intake specialist, call (800) 565-0558.
Presently, we have 10 doctors on staff, and all patients are seen by a psychiatrist and an internist. Our staff also includes psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other professionals. The hospital is staffed round the clock, and doctors are always on call for our patients.
Our outpatient services include an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which helps patients transition from inpatient care to functioning outside the hospital. This program also is beneficial for stabilizing those who are dealing with chronic and persistent psychiatric disorders, as well as those experiencing a recent deterioration in social or occupational functioning.
Using an integrative health approach, our behavioral health network includes more than 160 beds in Van Nuys, Culver City and Bellflower.
Our hospital accepts Medicare, Medi-Cal and most private insurance.
