Inpatient Behavioral Health Services
Our 57-bed Van Nuys Behavioral Health Hospital (also known as Southern California Hospital at Van Nuys) offers adults inpatient mental health services on a voluntary basis. Other services include assessments by physicians, nurses and social service professionals.
Our primary focus is on the complete care of the patient in a compassionate, healing environment, combined with a collaborative team approach to ensure the best possible outcomes. Following treatment, patients are assisted with discharge planning to better assimilate back into the community.
Our hospital’s multilingual, interdisciplinary team consists of psychiatrists, medical internists, registered nurses, recreational therapists and mental health technicians. Our interdisciplinary team provides patients with:
- Around-the-clock nursing care
- Individualized treatment plans
- Medication management
- Case management
- Education
- Group therapy
- Individual therapy
- Family intervention
- Recreation and music therapy
- Social and communication skill training
- Transportation to and from the hospital
- Discharge planning
In addition, our Van Nuys facility offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) designed to help patients live more independently and reduce the need for future hospitalizations.
Using an integrative treatment approach, our behavioral health network includes more than 160 beds in Van Nuys, Culver City and Bellflower, making us one of the largest mental health providers for adults in Southern California.
